J.R.R. Tolkien or "There to the roofs of the inspiration and back to the modern novel again"

The thesis focuses on insight, understanding and structuring of the prosaic work of J.R.R.Tolkien and on partial explanation of the sources of his thoughts and aesthetics. It means, above all, the old-Germanic myth, its medieval adaptation, the Christian themes, and the modern novel. Tolkien's theoretical reflections on the topic of myth and fairy-tale are outlined as well. Discussed are also the professional, reader's and literary reflections on Tolkien's work and therefore a general appraisal of this unique appearance in the frames of the modern literature.
Changes in conception of film fairy tales

The current generation of children consume more medial contents through television and movies than ever before. Many classical literature works are adapted in this way, although they have to correspond with preferences of audience and with socio-cultural values which shows the different view at the same topic subsequently mediated to the youngest audience. This thesis acquaints with history of fairy-tales genre and its various forms. In view of target audience of this production, thesis concentrates with the effect of content and media devices on children audience in theoretical part. Simultaneously the thesis efforts to popularity of cinematized fairy-tales in Czech environment. Practical part analyzes two film adaptations of the same fairy-tale's theme and efforts to point out to the differences in creative conception and values, which these movies represent. The goal of this thesis is to prove the changing views on the classical themes in the course of time the influence of the contemporary ideas and imaginations of the society on the adaptation for children.
The message of fairy tales for children in kindergarten

This thesis deals with classical fairy tale in the life of pre-school children. The aim of the thesis is to find out any chances if implementing fairy-tale projects so that they could attract contemporary pre-school children, deliver their message and simultaneously correspond with the FEPPE (Framework Education Programme for Preschool Children) targets. The theoretical part deals with developmental stages of apre-school child together with characteristic developmental peculiarities classification. The second part classifies both symbolism and characteristic features of afairy tale. The third part deals with an importance of a fairy tale in a pre-school child´s life and its usage in the framework of pre-school education. The practical part contains a creation of projects which are based on fairy-tales motifs and their implementation with a group of children.
Change in values ​​in children's literature from the renaissance to the present

Diplomová práce se zabývá proměnou hodnot v dětské literatuře od obrození k dnešku. Na začátku práce se pojednává o problematice hodnot a o významu dětské literatury pro rozvoj morálního vědomí žáků. Dále se práce zabývá proměnou hodnotové orientace ve společnosti v průběhu sledovaného období. V rámci interpretace děl dětské literatury, která byla dobově nejvýznamnější či nejčtenější, je ukázáno, jak se měnil pohled na morální normy a hodnoty v literatuře pro děti a mládež. V závěru práce jsou porovnány hodnotové rámce napříč zmíněnými tituly s přihlédnutím k subjektivnímu pohledu autora i hodnotové orientaci společnosti. Z výsledků práce jsou pak vyvozeny didaktické závěry, které mohou posloužit jako pomůcka učitelům při výuce občanské výchovy. The presented bachelor thesis deals with the theme of fairy tales and its function in the child's upbringing. This thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the issue of a fairy tale, its constitution and functions, the struggles of story and influence on child. The practical part contains a survey focusing on Understanding the fairy tale from perspective of children from nursery and primary school and possible differences between these different age categories.
Narratologic research of folk tales

The thesis focuses on the investigation of selected world fairy-tale analyzing the topics of psychology and cultural anthropology. The subject of the thesis is literarily-theoretical meta-analysis of narrative structures and their relative comparison. Theoretical part of the thesis includes four major chapters, in which there are more specific descriptions of fairy-tale dilemmas and also the analysis of several European fairy-tales. The practical part then specifically analyses Australian, Japanese, Chinese, Gypsy, and Indian fairy-tales.
A fairy-story in the eyes of a narrator versus a fairy-tale in the eyes of a folklorist

This contribution tries to demonstrate the differences between the technical term fairy-tale used by contemporary folklorists and the word fairy-story used by popular storytellers and contemporary readers of books of fairy-stories. A fairy-tale as a folkloristic term has its exact structure. For a contemporary reader or spectator, everything possible is a fairy-tale, if only fairy-tales beings, environment or plots appear there. Therefore, there is a quite big difference between the view of an expert and that of the wide public in what is a fairy-tale or not
